DESCRIPTION:
During the Villmergen War of 1712, the women of the townships of Meisterschwaden and Fahrwangen Switzerland paraded to the frontlines to assist the men fighting. Each year in honor of this event, the young women of both towns dress in period costume and participate in a military parade before a female General Staff. Upon completion, a festival is held.
